The Nepali Bible Correspondence Institute

About Us

In 1870 the Scottish Presbyterian Mission sent their first missionaries to the Darjeeling District of West Bengal in India. Later other missions followed, among them was WEC missionary Mr. van Dycks. In the year 1915, he developed the Darjeeling Bible Correspondence Institute for all seekers among the listeners of the newly launched Christian radio broadcast linked with the DBCI. By 1966, nearly 10’000 students had enrolled to the DBCI, and it kept growing in these early years.

Testimony

NBCI has taught me to live a spiritual life!

I remember that great moment - I used to live wherever I wanted to go and whatever I wanted to do, doing all those things according to my pleasure. Just as birds fly freely in the sky, I used to walk, dance and play freely on earth according to my own will. But now those days are past for me. Maybe those happy days will never come back for me!
